My Little Lola Bean
Dear Lola,
This headshot picture. Oh wow. When did you become a young women? It seems like just yesterday that I was 26 and giving birth to you in St. Mary's Hospital on 11/11/04. 12 hours on pitocin and no drugs. Me, your daddy, Mama Sue, a doula, and the OBGYN. There were some nurses, too. But most of them were annoyed that I was moving all over and the monitor wouldn't stay on me properly. You were so healthy, 8 pounds and glowing with life when you finally emerged.
Now here you are at 13. Rocking 7th grade (yes, including advanced Algebra that you're having to work your butt off for). Going to be in your first local theater play in May. Dancing with the School of Richmond Ballet three days a week. The best big sister to your bother and two little sisters, tweedle D and tweedle Don't Touch That, as we call them. And those blonde arched eyebrows - just not fair. LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU.
You amaze me. I am so proud of the woman you are becoming. And so very thankful I get to be your mama.
I can't wait to see you on the stage in May... yes I will cry. How can I not? I love you to the moon and back. And yes, I'm certain to brag more about you in these love notes. Watching you grow up helps me reflect on myself - daily. Thank you for helping me be a better me by being the amazing YOU that you are every day. (Now get off your phone, wash you face and go to bed - ha!!)
Lotsa love,
Leah/ Mommy
